In 2023, UNJHRO documented 5,273 human rights violations and abuses throughout the country; an average of 439 violations and abuses per month, representing a 12% decrease from the previous year.

This decrease, which confirms a trend already observed over the previous two years, reflects the drop in number of violations and breaches in the five provinces which experienced conflict in 2023, with 4,473 violations and breaches in 2023, compared with 5,091 in 2022.
